Fernando Plascencia holds a PhD from Cornell University, and an MS in Economics from the University of Guadalajara. His research has looked at Behavioral Economics and Network Theory for the analysis of well-being. The study of well-being has become increasingly important in several disciplines that seek to develop and test non-market-based behavioral theories of social interaction. His current research topics covers applied experimental measures of subjective well-being, risk perception, and preferences especially in areas affected by violence. Other ongoing work focused on developing methods to assess and characterize models in Machine Learning (ML), Natural language processing (NLP) and Econometrics to contribute to the analysis of well-being that can advance our understanding of causal effects.
