Sneha Gupta is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in Communication at the University of Buffalo. She applies theories from consumer research, social psychology, and personality literature in her research. Specifically, her interdisciplinary work explores whether external narratives (shown in advertisements) may trigger internal narratives (story construction of future consumption experiences in our minds). Further, she wants to look at the role of these narratives in estimating one’s future chances of engaging in conversation about that consumption.
Before her doctoral program, Sneha had almost a decade of experience spanning jobs in SME consulting, media planning, and consumer goods (CPG). She holds a master’s in Business Administration from Buffalo and a bachelor’s in Economics from Singapore Management University.
Sneha was born and raised in Dehradun, India. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new recipes, and hiking with her partner and with her dog, Coco.
