Daisy Rodriguez (ella/her) is a PhD candidate in Higher Education program in the Department of Education Policy Studies at Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus. She holds a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs (SAHE) from Miami University, Ohio, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration and Political Science with an option in Legal Studies from California State University, Chico. Broadly, Daisy’s research interests focus on the intersection of race, gender, and policy in higher education, with a particular attention to how laws, institutional practices, and campus climates shape the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and more racially minoritized Women of Color. Grounded in Critical Race Theory and Chicana feminism, her scholarship seeks to call on those invested in transformative policies to invest in practices that center care, dignity affirming policies, and social justice in the academy.
