Erika Arias is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Syracuse University. Her work focuses on social movements, memory, and state violence in Latin America. Her research has been supported by grants including the APSA Fund for Latino Scholarship, Syracuse University’s Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration Mini-Grant, and Syracuse University’s Program on Latin America and the Caribbean Research Grant. At Syracuse, Erika is a graduate research associate of the Program on Latin America and the Caribbean, and a graduate student associate of The Campbell Public Affairs Institute. She holds an MA in Political Science from Syracuse University and a BA in International Relations and Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington.
