Hello There! I am Haripriya (Hari), currently a 5 th year PhD candidate in Hybrid Nanomaterials Lab at NYU Tandon. I work on quantum dots and perovskites, new class of nanomaterials for efficient energy conversion in the design of next-generation X-ray photodetectors with a focus towards early-stage cancer detection. I grew up in a beautiful scenic town, Neyveli, in south of India. Neyveli is best-known for thermal power station from lignite (a form of coal) reserves. The opportunities to learn engineering was around the area while growing up and eventually I pursued Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in National Institute of Technology, Trichy, one of the top-10 institutes in India. From there, with every internships at Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (India) and RWTH-Aachen (Germany), I got fascinated towards nanomaterials and their applications. Apart from my research, I spend my time playing chess games online, listening to music, and painting.
