Jane Y. Jeong (she/her) is a third-year PhD candidate in the Department of Special Education at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research explores the experiences of families of individuals with disabilities, with particular attention to the roles and perspectives of siblings from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She examines how sibling brokers (sibling cultural and linguistic brokers) often take on unique intermediary roles—bridging communication, culture, and care within educational, medical, and social service systems. Jane is the recipient of the 2025 Doctoral Fellowship in Legal and Higher Education, sponsored by the American Bar Foundation (ABF) and AccessLex Institute. She is also a 2024–25 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellow, working alongside interdisciplinary professionals to support individuals with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities.
