Imara Mohamed Nazar is currently pursuing her PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering at the State University of New York at Albany. She is now a fourth-year PhD student in signal processing and communications and is expected to graduate in Summer 2023. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Her primary goal is to establish herself as a research scientist with relevant skills and practical experience. Prior to joining the State University of New York at Albany, she was working as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. Her research interests include machine learning, Detection and Estimation Theory, Microwave Remote Sensing, and Optimization Theory.
