Jon is the CFA’s Multimedia Producer for Video, Animation and Design.
As a multimedia producer, I specialize in creating dynamic, engaging, and visually compelling content across a variety of platforms in order to advance the impact of departments and people across NYU. I am a storyteller at heart with the foundations of a creative influenced by technology. My role involves creative directing and turning ideas into reality.
There’s a lot that I enjoy about my work, but what I enjoy the most is the creative freedom to blend different forms of media—video, audio, graphics, 3D and interactive elements—to tell compelling stories and bring attention to communities around NYU. My work is rarely repetitive as every project presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. I also love the collaborative nature of my role, as I get to work with talented writers, designers, editors, and more. From NYU Abu Dhabi to Faculty Resource Network in Puerto Rico, and the NYU schools around NYC, I am constantly working with new people and departments; it feels like there really is never a dull moment.
One of the highlights of my year was participating in and graduating from the Lead From Where You Are program, which is a nine-month leadership program. The program was a professional development opportunity, and though it was not directly involved with the CFA, and occasionally took me away from my work, the Center supported my decision to participate. Over the duration of the program, I met a lot of impressive leaders around NYU and grew a great deal both personally and professionally.

I would choose a role that is much different from being a technical artist. As much as I enjoy creating, I want to be more involved with the overall vision of a department. I aspire to be a creative director or a director of a program dealing with technology. I’ve always been fascinated with leading a team and coming up with the bigger picture rather than working on the technical details to make the larger picture work. I love my role, but this is where I want to eventually end up. Getting an opportunity to do this and learn for even just one week at NYU would be amazing.
Honestly, the people who inspire me the most are the everyday creatives I see online showing their work to the world, from 3D artists like Gal Yosef and Guzz Soares to artists in the fashion industry like Joseph Padayachee with SAALT STUDIO and Blu Boy with WNTD Apparel. With the world of social media being so present in our lives today, I take joy in finding inspiration through artists who are not necessarily considered mainstream or work for a massive corporation, but rather work hard independently to achieve their dreams. There is so much to be inspired by online, you just have to look for it.

We’ve collaborated on several high-impact projects, and every single time, Jon brings creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of how to tell a story visually. His ability to juggle both the big picture and the fine details makes him an absolute asset on any team. I hope more people have an opportunity to collaborate with Jon.
