Bryant O. Best is a third-year doctoral student in the Justice & Diversity in Education program at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, Bryant served at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the American Council on Education (ACE) both of which are in Washington, D.C. In these roles, Bryant contributed to projects and initiatives designed to advance educational equity in public education, kindergarten through college. Bryant holds a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Sociology with a focus on race, class, and gender from the University of Maryland, College Park. Bryant’s hobbies include biking, playing basketball, and video games. He is also an active member of the Marriage Ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. Bryant lives in Antioch, TN with his wife, Ashley.
