Fatima Fairfax

Fatima Fairfax is a PhD candidate in sociology at Duke University. Her primary research focuses on how the development and use of healthcare technologies impact existing health(care) quality and disparities in the US. Her work sits at the intersection of medical sociology; science, knowledge, and technology; and race and inequality studies. Her work has been supported by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine’s (NASEM) Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a manager of Measurement and Evaluation for New Profit, a venture philanthropy firm. She received her BA in Sociology from Harvard University in 2018.
