Passion Lord is a PhD Candidate in Education at UCLA. A first-generation college graduate and LA native, she is passionate about the recruitment, retention, and persistence of underrepresented communities in higher education. Her current research explores how social media influences prospective students’ decisions to enroll at an institution. Passion has leveraged her business background in various professional and volunteer roles within the education sector. Passion is a recipient of UCLA’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the university’s highest recognition for teaching excellence, honoring educators who demonstrate exceptional commitment to student learning, innovation, and academic mentorship. She serves as a teaching fellow for the Bunche Fellows Program, where she assists undergraduate students with their research projects and presentations. These projects are showcased at two university-wide research symposiums: the Undergraduate Research Showcase and the Bunche Fellows Research Symposium.
