Steven (Hank) Sherwood is a fourth-year, part-time doctoral candidate in the Sociology of Education program at NYU Steinhardt. He works full-time as the Associate Director of Communications for NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, Hank attended Penn State University where he earned a BS in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems. Upon graduation, he earned his teaching credential and taught seventh- and eighth- grade math in East Palo Alto, California for several years. After teaching, Hank attended Loyola Merry Mount University in Los Angeles where he earned an MA in Urban Education Policy and Administration. He is passionate about working towards educational equity for all and examining sexual and gender diverse youth (SGDY) experiences.
