Tyrone Jesse Sgambati is a PhD candidate in psychology at UC Berkeley. He completed his BS at the University of Michigan, where he studied philosophy, psychology, and cognitive science. Both in his academic and personal life, his interests are driven by wonder about the rich spectrum of human experience. His research focuses primarily on the reduction of intergroup conflict, but he also studies emotion-regulatory processes and transformative psychedelic experiences. In his free time, he enjoys reading (right now, Ada or Ardor by Vladimir Nabokov and The Temple of the Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima) and being outside (especially scuba diving, climbing, and skiing).
