Dr. Patrón is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University. His research examines the ways that historical forms of oppression influence the lives of minoritized people within postsecondary contexts. Specifically, he centers the successes of Latina/o students at undergraduate and graduate levels, men of color, social identities, and resilience through critical frameworks. In recent work funded by the Spencer Foundation, Patrón is collaborating on a project examining racial equity orientations among institutional leaders and the ways these inform how leaders support Black and Latina/o students. Patrón is a proud first-generation college student.
