Vanessa Hatton is a Social Psychology graduate student at Rutgers University—New Brunswick, and previously attended the University of Delaware, earning a degree of distinction (BS) in Psychology and a degree in Africana Studies (BA). Vanessa works extensively with intergroup dynamics research. Specifically, Vanessa examines identity, race and gender, intersectionality, and the physiological and psychological effects of discrimination/other intergroup processes. In addition to her research and seven semesters of teaching experience through Rutgers, Vanessa has worked extensively with Rutgers’ Division of Inclusion, Equity and Community Engagement as a mentor and graduate assistant, and previously worked with the University of Delaware’s Center for the Study of Diversity as a research assistant.
