Irmak Olcaysoy Okten is a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Department of Psychology at New York University. She received her MS and PhD in Social Psychology from Lehigh University, U.S. She earned her BA in Political Science and International Relations and MA in Social Psychology from Bogazici University, Turkey. She is a first-generation college graduate. Her research focuses on processes of social cognition, including person perception, stereotyping and prejudice, and the role of motivational factors (e.g., the need to know) in these processes.
