Leadership Development

As part of its mission to develop academic leadership, the Center for Faculty Advancement (CFA) is committed to offering a range of professional development throughout the faculty lifecycle. Through its partnerships with Academic Impressions, NYU Office of Human Resources, NYU Office of Equal Opportunity, and the NYU Steinhardt Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and the Transformation of Schools, the CFA offers leadership development opportunities for all faculty, as well as for faculty-administrators, and other higher education leaders across campus.

Leadership Resources for All Faculty

Faculty have access to both in-person and online resources through our professional development partner Academic Impressions. Catering to the diverse needs of faculty across the university, programs provide tools to lead and become leaders in their respective departments, programs, offices, and/or administrative units.

Past workshop topics have included: Faculty Leadership at All Levels, Equity Minded Leadership Institute, Chair Leadership Institute: Leading and Influencing as a Chair.

All NYU faculty members may access their services by creating an account on the Academic Impressions website using your “@nyu.edu” email address. Please note, you must log into your account before selecting the webcasts of interest.

CFA, through its partnership with Academic Impressions, is pleased to announce the Virtual Writing Café for faculty. This asynchronous four-part video series allows you to set aside 45-minute sessions on your own schedule, and devote yourself to your writing practice. Learn more and access the Virtual Writing Café.
